Recently,the travel style in Thailand has changed in many aspects. Community-Based Sustainable Tourism (CBT) has come in and played a major role in the country’s main-stream tourism. There are many small communities that are opening themselves to be a unique learning destination. Like never before, community tourism is changing the world of tourism as it is a new alternative to respond to the needs of tourists. The communities themselves determine the processes, directions and their own travel patterns. Moreover, all the villagers own the tourist resources, and have a stake in the tourism activities. For this, community-based tourism has many selling points: nature, history, cultures, traditions, ways of life, natural resources conservation etc. In addition, it enhances environmental awareness in the communities.

Ko Raet Community is a small island community living in Baan Don bay. The community is suitable for a tourism promotion for tourists to learn and understand the role of community, suitable for a sustainable tourism development, and also suitable as a place for creating an integrated network of cooperation between external agencies and universities in the form of shared missions.

Consequently, a project for the tourism route developmentfor DonSak district – Ko Phaluai (a development of ecological attractions around Nangkam Beach, Don Sak district) gathered information regarding the communities around Nangkam Beach in order to advertise and invite tourists and visitors to experience the way of life and the authentic natural aura of the rivers and the sunlight of the place.
